Postcard Collage Project

If you follow me on Instagram you will know this week I started a personal project recycling an old postcard from my collection into a daily collage project. I love analog (cut and paste) collage but I don’t practice it enough so I thought this would be an interesting project to try.

Here are Days 1-5

New Digital Collage Work

The Creative Process

Its been a long time since I last posted on the blog simply because I’ve been flat out busy on lots of creative projects but I’ve renewed my determination to keep my blog going and update on what I’m currently working on. So the main focus of my work is still digital collage and painting but I’m increasingly also producing analog collage pieces - original cut and paste combined with oil painting. Opening my own online shop at the start of the pandemic last year was the best thing for me as its enabled me to have all my work in one place on one site and sold exclusively by me. No more print on demand sites. I’m absolutely loving developing the shop and creating collections and themes within it, its the best decision I ever made and has become a truly global experience. My ongoing interest in natural history still prevails in all the work I have made in the last year and has expanded into making stop frame animation with my collages. My plan for the short term is to start making some much larger analog works.

Posting a selection of avian and bird inspired images.

New Work in Mosaic

I’ve recently started some new works using china mosaic on Birch wood cradle panels. ‘Garden’ (below) is now in my Big Cartel Shop. All the pieces are constructed from beautiful vintage China collected over a long time. Simply click on the Shop tab to see more.
